An old woman in a difficoult situation meets the look and gestures of a young girl willing to be her walking stick to guarantee her return home. A disinterested availability, beyond any economic value and any individualistic logic, becomes an encounter between two worlds, old age and youth, which touch each other, intersect and then move away from each other, richer than before, making me feel involved. The meeting becomes exchange, relationship, gift, bridge, cohesion, in absolute freedom, without mutual obligation, overcoming the useful and the expectation. And also the frenetic and indifferent city turns into a sacred space of common struggles, encounters, strong feelings, populated more by hopes than illusions, and feelings, never dormant, of solidarity and social justice. On these traces, the narration finds its cyclicity and its concreteness as well and, the wheel, as a symbol of the eternal return, returns in this story as a trait union of different destinies. From a translating instrument, the old woman receive a gesture of solidarity and sharing, a passage of gifts that renewes itself and that I decide not to interrupt by entrusting this photographic tale to museums. It is a circle that closes and reopens with the participation of the spectator, to whom it gives answers, to which it returns and renews questions.
